WHAT's THE
FARM TABLE
ALL ABOUT?

ABOUT THE FARM TABLE

The Farm Table is a toolbox that connects you — whether you are a producer, a student, an agribusiness professional, or just someone interested in understanding Australian agriculture —  quickly and easily to relevant information available across our sector.

The Farm Table complements the work farmers do every day. It ensures easy and user-friendly access to the information our farmers can draw on to maintain, build and strengthen their individual businesses.

The Farm Table is not duplicating the wonderful work done across the industry. Rather, by centralising information in an online hub, reducing search costs for individuals and encouraging information sharing and collaboration across the industry.

The Farm Table celebrates the progressive, sustainable and innovative character of the Australian agricultural industry.

WHY DO WE NEED THE FARM TABLE?

The Australian agricultural industry has a a rich heritage and a bright future.

Yet, agricultural sub-industries are facing similar challenges. We may all be working on disparate soil types, in different offices and on different enterprise systems, thousands of kilometres away from each other, but at the end of the day, Australian farmers work the land they love to produce a quality product, most often working for wages below market value.

The effort put into sustaining and growing individual enterprises takes 100% of a grower's effort. There is often little or no time to engage with other farmers in a local community, let alone across the broader sector.

And, accessing information quickly can often be difficult as there is no centralised platform bringing together the breadth of knowledge across the sector.

By sharing knowledge, building and strengthening cross-sector networks, and having easy access to tools, resources and practical case studies, overcoming shared challenges across the industry comes closer to our reach.

The table is for everyone — horticulturalists, viticulturalists, graziers, livestock producers, croppers, IRRIGATORS and everyone in between.
