The R&D tax incentive encourages companies to engage in R&D benefiting Australia, by providing a tax offset for eligible R&D activities. It has two core components: 1) a refundable tax offset for certain eligible entities whose aggregated turnover is less than $20 million 2) a non-refundable tax offset for all other eligible entities.

 

Innovation Connections: Expert Innovation Facilitators work with your business free of charge to identify knowledge gaps that are preventing your business’ growth.

To help you progress your research project, you may apply for an Innovation Connections Grant up to the value of $50,000. The grant will reimburse you 50% of the total project costs. 

Incubator Support initiative assists New and Existing Incubators to improve the prospects of Australian start-ups achieving commercial success in international markets.  

Projects can apply for a minimum grant amount of $10,000 and a maximum grant amount of $500,000. The maximum grant period is 24 months.

 

The Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII) encourages SMEs to develop innovative solutions for government policy and service delivery challenges.

SMEs are invited to submit proposals to address specific challenges.The selected businesses will receive grants of up to $100,000 to complete a feasibility study of their proposed solution within three months. Businesses that successfully complete a feasibility study are then eligible to apply for a further grant of up to $1 million to develop a proof of concept within 18 months.

 

The Public Sector Innovation Fund supports projects that test new approaches to solving complex policy challenges and delivering public value.

The focus is on innovative projects that respond to Victorian Government policy priorities and reflect the principles and approaches of public sector reform.
