AIMS - Introduction to Pasture and Grazing Management

"The increased pasture growth allows for greater stocking rates without taking many risks. Participants learn simple, quick and effective ways to monitor pasture and how to use this information to improve their grazing business."

What: 3-day introductory course is to increase the productivity of grazing enterprises through changes in pasture and grazing management, soil fertility, water-use and animal feeding strategies.

EverGraze

"More than 250 scientists, public and private advisers and farmers have contributed to EverGraze as part of the project team and governance since its inception in 2003."  

What: The EverGraze project aimed to increase the profitability of livestock enterprises in the high rainfall zone of southern Australia by using a perennial based farming system. The principles of the program are based on results from proof sites, modeling, research, on-farm experiences and stakeholder input. There are practical on-farm options, tools and training information available online.
Who: MLA, AWI and DPI VIC

In Victoria, Agriculture Victoria delivers a number of EverGraze workshops for producers and advisers (EverGraze Nuts and Bolts of Grazing Strategies (2 days), EverGraze Feed Budgeting and Tactical Management (1-2 days), EverGraze farm mapping – Dividing up the farm for grazing management (2 days), Farm Planning, Whole Farm Grazing Strategies (7 days). MLA EdgeNetwork - Grazing Land Management

"Completing this workshop will allow you to assess the condition of your paddock, understand more about the grazing ecosystem, meet target markets while remaining sustainable in the long-term and determine the financial impact of grazing management options."

What: Part of a number of EdgeNetwork courses run by MLA that "offers practical learning opportunities to help producers gain knowledge and develop skills necessary to improve their livestock enterprises.

NSW DPI - Prograze®

"This course is run in the field and provides skills for participants to assess pasture characteristics influencing pasture and animal production and to develop pasture and livestock management plans."

What: Eight workshops (36 hours) focused on assessing pastures, using assessments to predict livestock production, developing a pasture, livestock and grazing management plan.This course is an abridge version of the eight day PrograzeTM course for those who can only attend for two days.

NSW DPI - Prograze Abridged

"An intensive two day course to develop skills in assessing pasture and animal production and to develop pasture and livestock management plans."

What: This course is an abridge version of the eight day PrograzeTM course for those who can only attend for two days.

NSW DPI - Prograze Plus

"This workshop series builds on the skills and knowledge learnt in PrograzeTM, leading to the development of a whole farm fodder budget. This course is for sheep and cattle producers who have completed PrograzeTM."

What: Five half day workshops (17hrs) over 9 months that focuses on development and implementation of a property grazing plan.

Principle Focus - Cell Grazing Focus

"Field visits to experienced cell grazing properties during the course gives an insight into the benefits and practicalities of these grazing systems."

"The Business of Grazing is an extensive course focusing on the main business aspects of running a grazing business." 

What: Three day course that can help you strengthen family relationships, reduce overhead costs, improve livestock health and performance, define, control and manage where your business is going, identify dead wood in your business and learn how to manage productive pastures and healthy soils.

Stress Free Stockmanship - Integrated Weed Management

"A chance to see how you can take Stockmanship skills and apply them in ways to change the behaviour of your animals so that they can expand their diet to include weeds."

What: One day course introducing you to grazing and weed eating.
