THE POLICY PADDOCK

(A) strong agriculture sector will not survive without sound and supportive government policy settings and a focus on removing all unnecessary impediments and regulations that stifle innovation, productivity, investment and growth in jobs.”

For so long, agriculture was referred to as a "sunset industry".

Now, our industry is back on the main stage.

What are our federal and state governments considering for the agricultural industry? Agencies and our representative bodies?  The think tanks and strategy firms?

The Policy Paddock provides — in one central spot — the latest policy, blueprints, discussion papers, strategic and project reports from across public and private bodies that relate to our industry.

In addition to pulling out key policy points, commentary snapshots, relevant articles and research papers will be provided for each policy section.

Call it an attempt to deliver a 'Policy on A Page' if you will!

WHY IS POLICY IMPORTANT?

Policy affects profitability.

You can give your utmost effort, be armed with all the latest knoweldge and technology, and produce the highest quality product.

But, without the right policy environment, your hard work could be wasted.

As members of the agricultural industry, we all need to have our say on issues that affect our business, our families, and our livelihoods.

WE KNOW OUR INDUSTRY BEST.

As producers, let's understand where our industry is now, what the future may hold, and what we need to do to overcome the challenges and capture the opportunities.

So, provide input into a discussion paper, or get in contact with your farmer- or commodity-representative agency — be heard.
